Our Warranty
At Ottena we offer a warranty on all of our teak garden furniture and garden parasol products, for a period of 1 year from the delivery date of the item. The warranty covers material or workmanship defects only. Our warranty does not cover:
· Wear and tear through normal usage including scratches, dents, tears in fabric or stains.
· Effects on the teak furniture and garden umbrellas as a result of exposure to the elements. For example hairline cracks, weathering, colour loss, corrosion to metal fittings or end grain checking etc.
· Damage resulting from the use of a pressure washer to clean our teak furniture and outdoor umbrellas.
· Damage caused to furniture or parasols resulting from strong winds or severe weather conditions.
· Damage or issues caused by the incorrect assembly of our teak garden furniture. We have produced guidance and videos specifically to help with the assembly of our furniture. Any questions regarding assembly should be forwarded to hello@ottena.co.uk and one of our team will be able to assist you.
The time period for our warranty applies strictly. Any claims raised after 1 year from the date of delivery will not be accepted.
If the furniture is being used in a commercial setting (e.g. restaurant, café, sports venue etc.) then the terms of our warranty as outlined above will still apply, but we do not accept liability for any damage caused to teak outdoor furniture or outdoor umbrellas as a result of excessive use or misuse, or damage caused by customers. For example, people standing on the teak table and chairs etc.
A “defect” claimed under this warranty is classed as an issue with the teak outdoor furniture, outside parasol or outdoor seat cushions that will “effect the normal use of the item” or render it unsafe.
On receipt of your order, please check the condition of the teak patio furniture or parasol prior to assembly. Assembled goods cannot be returned or exchanged, as per our returns policy. If you find that your order is damaged on arrival, this must be reported to us immediately.
Any item that has been modified, painted or treated in anyway will be excluded from the terms of this warranty.
The warranty will not cover neglect through a lack of maintenance or after care of your teak garden furniture or garden parasol. For example, brass fittings working lose through normal use causing parts of the furniture to become unstable, staining developing on teak furniture products as a result of incorrect treatment etc.
In all instances of a claim raised under the conditions of this warranty, we will require images of the defective/damaged item before any claim can be made. Please email images and supporting information regarding the issue to hello@ottena.co.uk, along with your original order details, so that the case can be fully assessed by our team.
If we are in agreement that your claim is valid, Ottena will offer an exchange or partial refund, depending on the type of the issue. These options will be at the discretion of Ottena. Ottena reserves the right to determine whether an item should be exchanged or a partial refund offered to cover the costs of undertaking a repair, where appropriate. Our team will use their experience and that of the manufacturers to determine the most appropriate method of resolution depending on the circumstances.
A partial refund may be offered to cover the cost and inconvenience of the teak garden furniture or garden parasol being repaired either by the customer or an appropriate tradesperson. In our experience, this minimises inconvenience to the customer who retains the goods throughout and does not need to go through the process of exchanging the items, including disassembly, repacking etc. In our experience, appropriate and effective repair results in an outcome where the teak furniture is in perfect working order, without visual evidence of a repair.
This warranty is non transferrable and only applies to the original purchaser.
