We are very proud of the ranges of teak furniture and wooden parasols that we have to offer you, our manufacturers have been supplying us with their stunning furniture since we started our business almost 10 years ago. Our solid teak Adirondacks, tables, benches and patio sets are built using mainly traditional joinery methods which gives products that are strong and sturdy but still retaining the natural beauty of the teak used. In its construction we try not to use other metals and plastics in building these stunning pieces, but where we do we ensure we keep this level to an absolute minimum to bring stunning ranges of garden furniture in York to you.

We always ensure the timber that we use comes fromsustainable sources. The forests and plantations that it comes from are closely controlled and monitored to ensure the timber that is harvested is legal and sustainable. The teak we use for example comes from Javanese plantations that are strictly controlled under the SVLK certification scheme which is in place to make sure the teak harvested is legal. Without this certificate the teak cannot be used or exported so maintaining the sustainability of the timber being used. We are always looking at ways to help in this so we have recently introduced a tree planting scheme that we offer to all of our customers. For every order you place we will on your behalf plant a tree.

When it comes to sending our orders out to all of our customers the packaging we use and how we send is very important. For our smaller items and orders we use a mixture of cardboard and bubble wrap that helps to give the best protection and support whilst in transit to you. Yes I appreciate we are using bubble wrap but it still gives the best protection to our teak furniture but we ensure the wrap we use is partly made from recycled material and is fully recyclable once you have finished using it. For larger items and orders these will be sent on a pallet delivery service which helps to reduce the amount of packaging that we use when sending our orders.

We always ensure that the timber we use for our teak furniture and wooden parasols is from sustainable forests or plantations. With strict controls and measures in place to ensure the timber harvested is legal. To help give a little we ave recently introduced a tree planting scheme to our business. This fantastic initiative through tree nation will plant a tree on your behalf for every order that is placed with us here at Ottena.
