FAQ

Everything you want to know about wooden garden parasols.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get from our customers, hopefully you will find the answer you need here!

What size parasol do I need for my table?

As a rule, your parasol should extend beyond the table edges to give comfortable shade around chairs, not just the tabletop. If you’re unsure, tell us your table size and we’ll recommend the best fit.

It’s started to rain!! Is the parasol waterproof?

All of our parasols have a showerproof 180gm polyester fabric canopy which will give some protection from light rain showers but is not fully waterproof.

Can you supply a parasol that tilts?

In our extensive parasol range we have 2 different sized parasols that have a tilting function. Our 2m x 1.5m rectangular and larger 3m round wooden garden parasols have a tilt function. With the push of a release button the canopy will tilt to approximately 30 degrees.

Do I need a cover?

If you want your parasol to look immaculate for longer, yes. A cover reduces weathering and keeps the canopy clean, especially when the parasol isn’t in use. Check out our range of tailormade covers made from a navy blue waterproof fabric to give the protection your parasol needs.

What diameter is the pole on the parasol?

The 1.8m square and 2m round parasols have a pole diameter of 38mm all other sizes of parasol that we offer have a 48mm diameter pole.

Is it easy to raise and lower my parasol?

Our parasols are raised and lowered with a simple cord pulley system. With either a single or twin cord pulley system each parasol can easily be raised or lowered when required. Once raised you will find a brass pin o the end of the cord which is inserted into the hole located at the top of the pole to hold the canopy in the raised position.

I want to use my parasol freestanding, is that ok?

We would strongly recommend to use your parasol with a suitable parasol base and through a suitable table top to give the support needed. If you wish to use your parasol freestanding then please use an appropriately heavy base suited to the size of parasol that you have. If unsure please seek professional assistance.

Can I leave my parasol in the raised position?

Please never leave your parasol unattended in the upright position. Always lower your parasol when not being, we cannot take any responsibility for damage caused if left unattended. Ensure your parasol is taken and stored indoors if there are any forecasts for strong winds .

How do I care for the timber and canopy fabric?

The timber frame can be simply wiped with a soft, damp cloth to remove any dirt or grime. The fabric canopy can easily be unhooked from each spoke to remove it from the frame to aid cleaning. The canopy can be machine washed on a cool wash if required.
